Roof Brackets and Safety Harnesses
If you'e planning to do some roofing DIY, investing in roof brackets and a good roofing harness system may be helpful. These tools can help keep you safe while working on your roof.
Once safely up on the roof, set up your roof brackets and planks along the eave. This provides a safe place to step onto and rest your tools on. It also acts as a slide guard to prevent you from falling off the edge.
Strap on your safety harness according to manufacturer's instructions. Inspect the harness and lanyard for loose stitching and worn webbing. Never reuse a harness or lanyard that has been subjected to a fall.
Tighten the harness straps for a snug fit. Make sure you double-check all the buckles before going up on the roof. Fasten your roof anchor securely to solid wood - such as a truss, rafter or ridge beam.
