Protecting Yourself When On Your Roof
If you notice that your roof has some damage and are attempting to make repairs, here are some tips to help you stay safe.
Make sure you are wearing proper protective equipment, including a rubber-soled boot or shoe to avoid slipping. Harnesses and appropriate headgear, gloves and sunglasses also help protect you when up on your roof.
We cannot emphasize ladder safety enough! While an important tool for the job, it is a common source of accidental falls and slips so be sure it is in good condition and properly secured. Face the ladder, avoid carrying other equipment and use both hands when climbing.
Make sure your work area is clean. Any debris or tools lying around on your roof can cause you to slip and fall so be sure to do a visual check before beginning work.
Lastly, perhaps the best way to stay safe is to leave the roofing repair work to the professionals. With over 50 years of combined roofing experience, our team can help inspect and repair your roof and help keep you safe! Call us at R&C Roofing Contractors to schedule a free roof inspection.
